Illamasqua Fight For Fair Beauty Price

Hey just thought i would spread the word; I'm not usually one to post up stuff like this as i think people should be free to make up their own damn minds but i figured it's hard to make up your mind about something you don't know.

So if you already know and don't care, that's cool. But if you're tired to 100% + markup on Beauty products (or really all "luxury" products) then here's something you can do about it.

Illamasqua Fight For Fair Beauty Price; this UK seller has become frustrated with the inflated prices on our shores and seeks to remedy this, but they need help if they are going to do this, and more importantly persuade/inspire other companies to do likewise. So it you want to help spread the word and sign the petion which can be found here; Illamasqua Fight for Fair Beauty Price .

Here's what they have to say;

"We are Illamasqua and we are making a stand against the global giants of cosmetics, who force Australian customers to pay up to 61% more than UK prices. It's entirely unjust that someone in the UK pays just $24 for a lipstick, while a man or woman in Australia has to pay $40 for exactly the same product.

Illamasqua is an independent British colour cosmetics brand and, in the short time we've retailed in Australia, we've heard time and again your frustration over the inflated pricing of cosmetics compared to the rest of the world.

We have listened and want to slash our prices across our range in Australia. But first we need you to demonstrate to the industry that if we can make this change happen, you'll commit to buying our products. Even if you're not Australian, and you don't buy cosmetics in Australia, you can still help our cause so please sign your name, make your mark, tell your friends, clench your fist and cry "hell no!""

So if you want to get more involved here is how:

1. Sign the petition here
2. Like the Illmasqua Australia facebook page  here
3. View the quick film detailing the movement here
4. If you use twitter use the #FightForAFairBeautyPrice  tag
5. Spread the word

  1. Remember the outcry from Australian retailers about people buying online and from overseas rather than in Australia?

    This is the reason why. Unless you have bottomless pits of money, why would you buy a product in Australia rather than getting it significantly cheaper from overseas if you can?

    Sure, if I spend my money here I can help support someone else in Australia but I would rather save the money for something I want to buy and use it to support my own family.

    I don't understand why we need to demonstrate and sign petitions to make Illamasqua to "slash" their prices. Surely they have some control over what the Recommended Retail Price is. Surely doing the campaign and lowering prices at the same time would work the best. I hope that they do reduce their prices as Illamasqua is lovely.

    Off my soap box now. ;)

    1. I agree it shouln't be necessary and I'm quite sad that it seems to be, personally I hope that other companies see this as a kick in the butt to follow suit.
